Ryanair Student Deals

Looking for a cheap flight in Europe? Ryanair is an obvious (but worthwhile!) choice. Flights start from £19.99 each way - sometimes even less.

To get the lowest prices:

• Book early

• Be flexible with your dates and times (the more flexible you are, the better your chance of scoring a deal)

• Use the fare finder tool to score the lowest prices. There are some bargains - I've just found London to Barcelona for £35.98 return.

Ryanair have a bad reputation for hidden costs. Watch out for:

• Checked baggage. A pre-booked bag can cost anywhere from £15 - 20 (each way!), depending on the flight. This can push the overall of the price way up, so take it into account when comparing prices against other airlines.

• Always pre-book luggage. If you don't, you'll be charged on the day to take it on board (which can cost up to £75)

• Check-in online and remember to print your boarding pass. It's a must do - if you don't, check-in will cost a whopping £70 at the airport. A re-issued boarding pass costs £15.

It's recommended to pay by credit card if you're spending over £100, as you'll get extra protection covered by 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act. But keep in mind that paying by credit card or PayPal will cost an extra 2% of the total transaction cost.

If you're quick you can grab return flights with RyanAir from London Luton to Copenhagen for just £18 return, there are also flights from Edinburgh or London to Oslo and Liverpool to Dublin.

The dates available at this price are in November, and they're all midweek. Keep changing your dates around to find an elusive £9 flight.
