Waitrose are dropping their free hot drink deal to stop attracting 'chavs'
When you are hungover, or just stressed out with Uni life in general, sometimes all you need is a nice cuppa.
We brought you a deal where, if you have a MyWaitrose card, you were entitled to a free hot drink every day. If you haven't already claimed this deal, head over here now.
But if you live in Billericay, Bury St Edmunds, Clifton, Leigh-on-Sea, Mountsorrel, Norwich, Southend or Swaffham, bad news! Waitrose are dropping their free hot drink deal... to stop attracting 'chavs'!
In what could be this biggest dick move this year, the overly-expensive supermarket chain have received complaints from other (probably older) customers describing the stores as "soup kitchens".
How much do you want to bet that these people have never set foot in a soup kitchen in their life?
Now the change means that you will have to confirm to a staff member that you have made a purchase before claiming your free drink, and the purchase amount is not restricted.
Here is the statement released:
"Our myWaitrose free tea and coffee offer is one of the ways we thank our customers for shopping with us – and we want all our customers to be able to enjoy a free hot drink when they shop with us in our branches.
The trial in eight of our shops simply asks customers to confirm they’ve made a purchase, before picking up their free coffee.
There’s no minimum spend for this purchase."
So if you are in those areas, please go in your comfy clothes, buy a pack of chewing gum and then claim your free drink. Really piss them old, miserable farts off.
