This new Tinder feature is perfect for people in relationships
Tinder have launched a new feature, which is perfectly fine for people in relationships to use.
Tinder Social is a new feature of Tinder, which you can use in the UK today. The feature, which has been available in Australia since April, lets you find Facebook friends to hang out with.
You form groups with your Facebook friends (who also use Tinder and Tinder Social). Then you swipe around from other groups and individuals who are also looking to hang out / participate in the same activities your group wants to take part in.
When you have a match, you get put into a group chat, where you can all organise a get-together.
The idea sounds great, and BETA tests in Australia have gone well. However, there have been a few privacy concerns...

Tinder CEO Sean Rad said that the new feature isn't just a new way of finding other single people.
“It’s about going out with your friends and connecting with other friends who are also out,” he told Buzzfeed News.
There is no context. If you and all your other friends are single, then maybe you’re kind of looking to meet other single people. But you can use Tinder Social on its own even if you’re not single.”
Tinder for orgies
One expert told BBC News that Tinder Social might be perceived as a way of organising orgies.
"Tinder is seen by many as being a hook-up site," Ben Wood from the CCS Insight consultancy said.
"So, it needs to be careful. By expanding in this direction, rather than becoming a more interesting social meeting service, it could be perceived as an orgy app."
One privacy concern of Tinder Social is that by opting in, you reveal to all your Facebook friends that you use Tinder. Even if it is just for Tinder Social, try explaining that to your distant Facebook friends, who only see the scandal...
the great thing about this 'tinder social' thing is it shows my facebook friends that have tinder including people already in relationships.— 3-13 ally (@allygory) April 27, 2016
Tfw Tinder accidentally gives all of your friends (and urself) away with its 'Tinder Social' brainwave.— Chelle (@flackseed) April 27, 2016
If you're not keen on that, however, you just have to not opt in to Tinder Social when you next update your app.
As for how people are reacting to it in the UK so far, a lot of people are just seeing it as a new way to hook up with other singletons - just like regular Tinder but in bulk...
