Tesco shopper could've been killed when eating this kids fruit bag

A man has been offered £400 as a gesture of goodwill after finding a life-threatening object in his Tesco meal deal.

Tesco shopper Joel Powell was left stunned after finding a dangerous object in his meal deal that could have killed him. Joel, 26 from Birmingham, was eating his usual meal deal favourite, apple slices, when he felt a sharp metal object in his mouth.

Quickly removing the object, Joel was completely shocked to find that the object was a 2 inch blade, similar to a razor.

Joel bought his meal from a Tesco Metro in Peterborough, Cambridge. He said he normally devoured the slices, but this time it was after eating 2 that he discovered something hard in his mouth. Upon the discovery, Joel told South West News:

“I could not catch my breath, I was in complete shock. I would not wish it on my worst enemy. I was overwhelmed with emotion.

He returned immediately to the shop, who offered him £400 as an apology, but Joel said that he will never shop there again. Tesco released a statement in response:

“Our supplier has reviewed their operations and taken steps to improve them, including retraining colleagues and installing CCTV cameras as an extra precaution.colleagues and installing CCTV cameras as an extra precaution."

Joel is just relieved that he avoided what could have been a life-threatening situation. Hopefully Tesco's measures will prevent anything like this from ever happening again.
