Student applies for job, accidentally attaches photo of Nic Cage instead of CV

A student didn't get the job she wanted at York University after she accidentally posted a picture of actor Nic Cage doing a cheesy/terrifying grin instead of her CV.

Vanessa, 20, was applying for a job at the university, and went to attach a zip file of her cv. Unfortunately, she doesn't have a separate system for storing her CVs and her photos of Nic Cage doing a terrifying smile, so she accidentally sent her potential employer a photo of Nic Cage, star of Ghost Rider.

She posted her mistake instantly online, saying:

“I ACCIDENTALLY SENT MY POTENTIAL FUTURE BOSS A PICTURE OF NIC CAGE RATHER THAN MY COVER LETTER + CV, WHICH HAS A ZIP FILE TITLED WITH A BUNCH OF NUMBERS LIKE THE JPG I ACCIDENTALLY ATTACHED OH MY GOD.”

All I see is a picture of Nic Cage looking terrifying

When the employer saw it, she was a bit confused as to why she was receiving it.

"Vanessa, all I see is a picture of Nic Cage looking terrifying," she told Vanessa.

Vanessa was embarrassed by the mistake, and she isn't even a huge Nic Cage fan. She just find his face amusing.

“He has a hilarious face, his acting is truly over the top and, let’s be honest, his hair is really scary,” she said. But she does say she likes some of his films.

“My favourite movie is ‘City of Angels.’"

"People think I’m kidding when I say that, but I’m not.”

Despite the mistake, she has had job offers.

A few weeks after her mistake, she received job offers from several employers, after talking eloquently about the mishap on interviews on the TV and radio.

Just not from York University.

To avoid making the same mistake again, she’s now renamed her CV file: “thisisaresumeyoudumba**notaphotofnicolascage.”

She has since written a blog post on the incident, entitled "That Time Nicolas Cage Ruined My Life".
