Someone paid $100k... for a CHEETO!
Some things are truly baffling. And this one is possibly the craziest purchase of all time.
Someone has bought a single Cheeto (the American Wotsit) for nearly $100,000!
Ebay seller valuestampsinc put the item, which measures at just 1-1.5 inches in length, up for sale on 28th January and was open to bids. It started out at just $11.99 but quickly escalated, eventually pulling in bids of $50,000, and finally the winning bid of $99,900. For that money, you could buy a brand new Range Rover Sport or even a Ferrari!
But what makes the Cheeto so special to warrant the insane bids? The description of the item follows:
"I opened up a bag of Flamin Hot Cheetos and as soon as I looked inside I came across this unique Cheetos that looks like Harambe the Gorilla.
"This item is one of a kind!
"It measures up to about 1 1/2 inches in length.
"This item up for bid is only for this unique Cheetos, bag not included.
This makes a great collectible for anyone who appreciates rare items!
"Please pay with PayPal."
So here is the post and the Cheeto in question:
While it does hold some resemblance, is it really worth paying that much? Surely it will just go stale, right?
