Romantic waterfall proposal goes horribly - and hilariously - wrong

It's that big moment. You get down on one knee to ask the one you love if they want to be with you for the rest of their life.

But what happens if the perfect proposal you'd meticulously planned goes completely wrong?

That's what happened to Andrew Schuman, who had devised a unique way to ask his girlfriend to marry him. He had sorted it out so when they were jumping off picturesque waterfalls in Colorado.

As you can see, though, it didn't work out how he wanted.

Andrew waited for the right moment before his girlfriend was about to jump, then got down on one knee to do the deed.

Unfortunately he dropped the ring as he did it, with it heading down the waterfall never to be found.

Thankfully, she still said yes, but Andrew had this to say about the whole thing:

'I had to leave after getting out of the water to go cry behind a rock. We took turns consoling each other in the days after, and decided to tell our parents and friends, which made it real.'

Gutted mate.
