Netflix has introduced a new feature... and it is a game changer

The online streaming business has gone from strength to strength in the past few years. You have all sorts of sites allowing you to watch movies from your laptop, computer, phone, tablet and smart TV.

Netflix are seen as the leader of the pack, with great shows and originals such as House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and Stranger Things. But recently Amazon Prime has been catching up, especially with the introduction of The Grand Tour this month.

After the first episode, Amazon Prime bosses announced they received their highest ever video audience, cementing their place as a real contender to Netflix, some were even saying it is better.

But now, in a move that will surely re-establish them as top dog, Netflix have announced that they will include a feature that will allow customers to download programs and movies for offline viewing.

The feature will be made compatible for their iOS and Android apps, so you can take it with you on any of your portable devices.

Today, the world changed.

Not all content is ready to download now but a lot is, including The Crown, Narcos and OITNB.

Just go to the ‘Available for Download’ category of the app and choose what you want. You can also choose from a ‘Standard’ or ‘High-Quality’ download.

No word about the feature being available for desktop, but why would you need it? Surely, you would have Wi-Fi, right?
