As though he doesn't have a country to run, Trump seems to churn out a relentless stream of drivel.

So we'd all be lying if we said we hadn't dreamed of the sweet release of his account being taken down. And for 11 minutes at 11pm on Thursday night, all of our dreams came true.

At around 4pm pacific time, Donald Trump's account was suspended, meaning that when you searched for his usual handle @realDonaldTrump, you were met with the following page:

The outage led to a wealth of speculation, including people wondering whether Trump's repeated use of xenophobic and anti-Trans slurs had finally led to his removal from the site.

After 11 minutes the company released the following statement, which hardly answered anyone's questions.

“The account was down for 11 minutes, and has since been restored. We are continuing to investigate and are taking steps to prevent this from happening again”

However, after further investigation, it was revealed that a rogue Twitter employee had DELETED Trump's account because it was their last day and why the fuck not.

Not all heroes wear capes.

Who knew the key to silencing one of the world's most abhorrent accounts lay in the meagre hands of one truly fed up customer services employee.

The unnamed employee has now achieved legend status amongst many of Twitters' users:

Donald Trump himself has yet to comment on the situation... maybe he's embracing the Twitter-imposed silence.

We can live in hope, right?
