Daughter gets amazing surprise through Google Streetview

Losing a parent is a horrible thing to experience, and it must be exceptionally hard to heal from something so big.

Denise Underhill's mother Beryl Turton passed away 18 months ago, and since she lives in Florida, she was homesick as well as missing her mum.

She had an urge to call her mum, but since she couldn't, she searched for their old family home in Tamworth on Google Streetview to see if the new occupants had changed the place since moving in.

What she found shocked her - it was a photo of her mum watering the plants in the front garden before she died.

Denise told the Tamworth Herald,

'I got the BIGGEST surprise EVER! I just couldn't believe it. At the foot of the driveway was my mother. She was watering the garden, just as she always did.
'I was absolutely astounded – it made my day. You never know what photos are being taken but they really do last a lifetime. I think someone wanted me to see this.'

Many people have been caught out by Google Streetview, from nudists to criminals, but this story is far more touching. What an amazing surprise, and a lovely reminder of Denise's mum.
