This zoo will let you in for free if you're ginger

If you're ginger and you enjoy zoos, hold on to your asses; we have got the deal for you.

This month, if you're a redhead, you can get into Twycross Zoo for FREE in honour of Orangutans (who also have ginger hair).

The zoo explained on their website that this will be in honour of their orangutans, of which they have four.

"In honour of our red haired ape friends, and to coincide with World Orangutan Day we are letting everyone who has red hair into Twycross Zoo FREE on Friday 19th August."

"World Orangutan Day is celebrated internationally and aims to highlight the beauty of the Orangutan and the dangers currently facing these apes in the wild."

"We are currently working at the forefront of ape conservation, as partners of the United Nations Great Ape Survival Partnership (GRASP) to ensure the long-term survival of great apes and their habitat in both Asia and Africa. The number of Orangutans in the wild has declined by 50% over the past 60 years according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and this rate of decline is expected to continue – so it is absolutely vital that we work with other organisations to ensure the conservation of these beautiful animals."

"On Friday 19th August we will be letting anyone with red hair in for free – male, female, adult, child, strawberry blonde, auburn, fiery red, natural or dyed – it doesn’t matter. As long as you have red hair you can enjoy a free day out at Twycross Zoo! Our staff in the ticket booths will be issued with our special Twycross Zoo red headed colour scale too just to make sure!"

"Please note – we will be letting in people who have naturally red hair, or dyed hair for free. If you come wearing a wig you will have to pay the entrance fee."

Be prepared, the zoo is likely to be rammed full of gingers taking advantage of the freebie.

And people trying to get in with ginger beards...

I am currently writing to the zoo to confirm whether I, as a carrier of the ginger gene, will be allowed a free half-day ticket or at least entrance to the reptile house.

Non-redheads will have to pick up hair dye if they want to get in. The zoo most likely won't be checking that the curtains match the carpet.

If zoos are of no interest to you, there is also a restaurant that offers a discount to gingers.

Or check out this lady, who payed £700 for a burger meal deal...
