Producers pull 'Anchorman' prank on weather reporter and it is hilarious

I am going to start this by saying that only Aussies would get away with this. If this happened anywhere else, someone would be fired.

Deborah Knight is a newsreader and weather reporter in the land down under, and it seemed to be a normal run-of-the-mill weather report.

But the hilarious and modern classic, Anchorman starring Will Ferrell and Steve Carell was on the night before, and the producers of the show felt it would be great to pull the best prank from the movie on the unsuspecting Deborah.

They changed the auto-cue for the show hoping to throw her off track, or best-case scenario, she would read the changes without even thinking about it. She did the latter.

She had given a flawless performance up to the point where she has to sign off, where instead of her own name, she says "I'm Ron Burgundy."

Watch the video below of the genius prank.

Brilliant!

Bless her, she realises her mistake straight away and has a good laugh about it.

The news anchors can't quite believe it and they hold back their giggling to continue the broadcast.

The Aussie humour is without doubt the best in the world, they just don't care.
