BREAKING - Voting deadline extended (you can still register to vote!)

EU extension

Didn't get around to registering to vote yesterday? No problem. David Cameron has confirmed that people can continue to register to vote today because of an online glitch (the site was down) from 22:15 to midnight.

Users reported a page displaying the message "504 Gateway Time-out" instead of the online form. Matthew Hancock, Cabinet Office Minister said that people should continue to register to vote on the government's site.

"Those registrations will be captured by the system - then we have the legal question about whether captured applications can be eligible for the 23 June."

According to the government's data , 525,000 people applied to register to vote yesterday, and 132,000 were under the age of 25.

If you haven't registered to vote - do so now (it takes just two minutes).
